Organized Crime Disruption in the Aboriginal Community (OCDAC)

Target Audience

Police and Law Enforcement Officers.

Those interested in taking this course will be selected as per the following:

The Challenge

This intensive three week program will provide a thorough insight into various strategies to disrupt organized criminal activities as they relate to aboriginal communities:

  • Establishment of respect within the aboriginal community and the overall law enforcement community;
  • The ability to recognize, interdict and develop meaningful intelligence on organized criminal activities.

Participants will be exposed to established project management techniques, learn accepted intelligence reporting procedures and gain a solid understanding of human source development and management. Participants will explore the application of these skills into an integrated Intelligence Probe Team concept to ensure the effective and efficient use of resources.

All course objectives will be developed in a manner to ensure the candidate is familiar with the current laws surrounding court disclosure and is able to continually assess and mitigate risk to public and officer safety throughout an investigation.

Practical exercises will take place offsite that will require the participants to combine their career experiences with what they have learned during the course. At the end of the course the successful participants will be knowledgeable in investigation of criminal activities related to organized crime.
