Description

This course provides the knowledge, tools and resources to apply Canadian law when investigating Internet-related child sexual exploitation offences. It examines traditional investigative techniques, how to use the Internet as an investigative tool to collect evidence and how to prepare search warrants, search for evidence, and interview suspects. The course focuses on the importance of having standard practices that help reduce bad case law and facilitate inter-agency cooperation during investigations. Hands-on practice exercises and scenarios are used throughout the course.

Length of course: 10 days

Class size: maximum 20 students

Delivery setting: theoretical and practical components are done in a computer laboratory.
